With works by Johannes Brahms, Carl Maria von Weber, and Robert Schumann, this recital brings together three masterpieces that reveal the expressive possibilities of the clarinet and its unique voice within the Romantic repertoire. Lyricism, virtuosity, and emotional depth come together in a program that explores the rich musical landscape of the 19th century.
The program also tells a story of artistic inspiration and renewal: Schumann composing amid political unrest, Brahms rediscovering the clarinet as a source of creative inspiration, and Weber expanding the instrument’s technical and expressive possibilities through his groundbreaking works.

Pamela Coats ist mit mehreren renommierten Streichensembles aufgetreten. Ihr Auftritt mit dem Vardanyan Quartett wurde im Bonner Stadt Anzeiger gelobt “Im Mozart Klarinettenquintett, Coats faszinierte mit weichen Kantilenen, besonders der zweite Satz strahlte große Ruhe aus.” Das Projekt “Die Unerhörten” mit dem Canea Quartett Hamburg erhielt ein Aufführungs-Stipendium der Dorit & Alexander Otto-Stiftung und der Hamburgischen Kulturstiftung.
